Maya Nelluri

Hi I’m Maya; an Artist, Journalist, Make-up and Hair Professional, and Celebrity-Event Coordinator. I've previously worked as a Stylist and Associate Editor among other things. I was born in India and raised in New Zealand; though at this point in my life you will find me shuffling between Australia and my home land when I’m not out exploring the rest of the world!

Although Maya currently identifies as an Artist, Journalist, and Celebrity-Event Coordinator, she has previously amassed an enviable list of accomplishments in other roles as well.

She has worked as an Associate Editor for Southscope and Consultant Editor for Eternal Life Times. Prior to that, she was employed by Channel 6 magazine as a Copy Editor. Maya has also free-lanced for Times and Indian Express among many other publications. As a Fashion Stylist and Make-up and Hair Professional, she has worked on photo shoots and films with celebrities including Rana Daggubati, Nani, Saina Nehwal, Naga Chaitanya, Allari Naresh, Deeksha Seth, Manoj Manchu, Sharwanand, Shriya Saran and more. Her previous two Art Exhibitions were exceptionally well received and lead to her painting for a Mobile Application by Mytha Tech. As a Co-ordinator Maya has worked on award shows such as IIFA Utsavam and SIIMA.

On a more personal level, Maya is Indian born, and New Zealand raised, but she can currently be found shuffling between Australia and her home land when she isn't exploring other parts of the world. Born into a family that places utmost importance on living by societal norms, her decision to pursue multiple vocations was met with doubt, especially since the change in career paths came after she completed her Master of Arts at University of Auckland, New Zealand, specialising in Organisational Psychology. It was then that author John Green’s words, “What is the point of being alive if you don’t at least try to do something remarkable?” came to her rescue, and pushed her towards her calling. She enrolled into the Samala Robinson Academy, New Zealand, to study Makeup Artistry and went on to work in various fields associated with her passion - Indian cinema.
